Walking

We go on walks, following coastlines or the river or a pre-determined path.
He's happiest when we're out on our own just walking, walking, walking.
I don't know if it's the wanderlust I've inherited from my dad and my grandfather and his Indigenous mother or if it's just my boy calm within himself cos he's on the move.

It doesn't matter how far or how many hours we tramp, he's happy to keep on going.
Even when it begins to get dark, when we're in unfamiliar territory or nowhere near public transport, he doesn't panic, but knows I'll get us home in one piece.
We walked for 8 hours the other day and he wants to take u p where we left off, following the river further into the rural areas away from the city.
Some places near the river you would never think existed near a capital city like Melbourne; the overgrown spots, the stillness and silence with no sounds penetrating to where we were walking.
And he'd found his Zen zone.

Ro, your boy and mine could share their favourite bush walks with each other. Billy is never happier than when he's out walking!!

No demands, all input pleasing, lots of heavy work.

Love the zen zone.

I think it's the rhythm of walking that does it, Valerie :)
