We breathe. Just.

Another few days and another few bajillion meltdowns.
Yes, we're seeing the psychologist and, yes, we're doing as she suggested but these meltdowns are coming thick and fast, faster than before, and the screeching, grunts, hand flapping, tip-toe walking and ticcing is getting worse.
So.
Just as well we did warn the new neighbours about him losing the plot; it's become a regular thing ...go introduce yourself to the new neighbours and warn them that you really aren't making sacrifices at the full moon each month, it's just the feral offspring having yet another meltdown.
Oh, and ignore the swearing, we'll try to keep it to a minimum.
Although it can be very cathartic to let rip.

My beautiful, clever and cheeky boy breezed through his maths, literature and science this morning, slipped in a meltdown of medium proportions before heading out to an historic tour of the Royal Melbourne Hosp as part of History Week.
Had a wonderful time, took many notes, came home and promptly imploded from stress and anxiety.
Going grey and borrowing the Tourette's to let rip?
Why, yes.
Yes, I am.
Join in with me and you, too, can enjoy the soul-reviving pleasure of screaming swear words at the heavens.
No?
Ok, that'll just be me baying at the moon, then *snort*.

Wow, sounds like a seriously challenging time for everyone (I hope your neighbours are taking notes on HOW to swear properly).
I hope you get some strategies for Aspie Teen soon, whatever form they take, to help bring some balance, perspective and even some nice quiet for all of you.

And, I agree with you, for Perky, that he needs some rest and half days. I am not going to ask the school, I am just going to tell them. (*smiles slightly evilly*)

I forgot to add, keep breathing. Don't forget to breathe OUT - holding the breath leads to more problems!

I never used to swear, but since working in a supermarket, I find the "F" word slipping through my lips much more than I'd like. There's just so many frustrating things about the job. For me anyway.

It IS the full moon.

Wait, don't start without me! We can't do it at the full moon because you live in another hemisphere but surely we can co-ordinate somehow!

Psychologists swear that when you're working to get rid of a particular behavior, it will increase dramatically. This is called an extinction burst. They claim it's a great sign when you see this increase, because it means that the behavior WILL go away (as long as you keep doing what you're supposed to be doing).

So, it may not be the full moon entirely. Good luck!

Sorry to hear that things are crappy right now Ro,

Did you happen to see the Mythbusters episode where they actually tested that by swearing when you hurt yourself actually makes pain more bearable!

Hilarious episode!

Maybe there's something in that!
